CHOLERA Epidemic Supplies * (ANY/ALL Types) needed by St. Philomena Rehydration Hospital (a project of Nos Petits Freres et Soeurs/St. Luke Program)

Our Response
Cholera treatment in Haiti is being provided by Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos/Nos Petits Freres et Soeurs (NPH/NPFS, Spanish and French for “Our Little Brothers and Sisters”), which is supported by Friends of the Orphans. In addition, supplies are being delivered to various affected areas. NPH/NPFS is prepared to receive up to 400 patients at a tent site next to the St. Luke family hospital.

Support Needed
According to Fr. Rick Frechette, CP, D.O., who oversees all the NPH/NPFS programs in Haiti:

"What we need mostly are the IV catheters that go directly to the bone. The drills that put them in the bone are expensive. The catheters are $100 U.S. each. We sent what we had to the sisters in Port-au-Paix. We need about four more drills and 1,000 catheters for starters. We can buy these at a hospital in Ohio and get them here immediately. Even with the discounts we get, we still need about $90,000 total to buy these items."
