Financial Assistance, Loans, Car Purchase/Car Repairs available at Family Services Center

Family Services Center provides car purchase or repair loans to lower income families for transportation to work. The loans are for parents who cannot qualify for traditional loans.

Transportation is one of the main challenges facing lower
income people including those making the transition from
welfare to work. Without a vehicle, many jobs are inaccessible
where there is no public transit system. Many parents going
to work also need transportation to access child care which
further complicates their work commute. The transportation
barrier is magnified for low-income people living in rural
counties without public transportation. Unfortunately, many
of these individuals do not have the funds to buy a vehicle
or the credit history necessary to finance a vehicle.
Through this program, Family Services Center is able to
provide car purchase o repair loans to parents who are unable
to qualify for traditional loans, but who must have a car for
job access.
