Volunteer, Long-Term Volunteer Opportunities available at Upper 9th Ward Women's Center (Common Ground)

Devoted and kind long term volunteers wanted to help at the Ninth Ward Women's Center in New Orleans. It's a family-style shelter that houses 18-20 women and children of all ages and backgrounds. The goal is to provide our residents with resources to find permanent jobs and housing with the eventual goal of independent living for each woman.

The volunteer positions vary from case management to house manager and assistant manager. You do not need to have lots of experience (or any experience!) working in a shelter, but you do need to have patience and enthusiasm for sometimes stressful tasks.

This job is incredibly rewarding, and while we can not offer any pay, we can offer room and board and a lovely time in the city of New Orleans!
