You Can Be a Volunteer!

The heart of CPCA is our volunteer program, because without it we would not be able to serve nearly as many families as we do on a one-on-one basis.

Volunteers work in all of our Parent Aide programs--Welcome Baby, High Risk Youth/Teen Mentor, Child Advocacy, and Victim Witness. They also help us with fund raising, community education and awareness, special projects, and clerical work.

Volunteers are carefully screened, trained, and supervised. At no time are they asked to work in a potentially dangerous situation. We have quarterly volunteer training sessions, as well as monthly inservice training. Our Program Coordinators introduce our volunteers to the families and give the volunteers all the emotional support and/or information they need or want.

If you live in the South Mississippi area and helping families cope with the challenges of parenting appeals to you, or if you would like to work with a new mother or a troubled teen, contact our Volunteer Coordinator at (228) 868-8686 Monday through Friday from8:30 to 5:00 pm. It is worthwhile work, and our families will truly appreciate your help!
