Fresh Direct Volunteering Opportunities

Our new Fresh Direct program is ready to hit the road and for it to be a success, we need your help! Volunteers are needed to assist with running this program that distributes fresh produce in neighborhoods that need it. Five pilot sites are planned for 2008, one each in Burlington, Camden and Salem counties, NJ, and two in Delaware County. Each site is visited one day per week at a consistent day and time. All sites are currently operating on weekdays. Each distribution requires a 2-3-hour commitment, including set-up and take-down. Approximately 10-15 volunteers are needed to help us reach our goal of serving 150-200 individuals with each food distribution. Volunteers may assist one time or regularly, at one site or more than one, but must be able to commit to the full distribution duration. Each distribution requires volunteers for a diversity of roles both physically demanding and not and we will match volunteers to tasks within their capabilities.
