Since then, countless organizations (governmental and non-profit) have come in to offer grants and aid to affected persons. However, the process of recovery is a long one, and there is a lot of red-tape surrounding many of the grants available. We feel compassionately toward the situations of many of our clients who may have been in poverty before the storm, been taken for granted by a fraudulent contractor, or have had other extenuating circumstances keep them from being able to access grant money they need to finish their homes. At times, an eligible family may be made to wait months for a grant to come in, and this may be incompatible with when they can get the volunteer labor to finish the job. Your donations are the only way we can meet these needs more promptly and get people out of their unhealthy FEMA trailers and into their new homes.
