Become a Disaster Services Volunteer

Disaster Services Training
We need you. Every month, the Wiregrass Chapter responds to local emergencies; single-family fires, hazardous material accidents and car crashes, to name a few.

Red Cross aid exists solely on the community and its volunteers. Together, volunteers form an emergency response team responsible for helping others during disasters.

Disaster volunteers are the backbone to the Chapter’s ongoing emergency planning and preparedness efforts. As you gain training and disaster operational experience, you may be asked to respond to large disasters throughout California and the country.

Training is vital
It is essential the Red Cross maintains a constant state of readiness. To do this, personnel are constantly trained and disaster equipment maintained.

How to become a disaster volunteer
Becoming a disaster volunteer is easy and free! Call 334-792-9852 to become a registered Wiregrass Chapter volunteer. Before training begins, you must attend the Disaster Services Volunteer Orientation and a Disaster Services Meeting. Additional information is given during this time.
