Advocacy, Special Needs Folks, Seniors/Elders available at Eliot Community Human Services

The Ombudsman Program provides weekly visits to elderly residents of twenty-four area nursing homes by volunteer advocates, who talk with residents, observe the general conditions of the homes, and give the residents and opportunity to express any concerns. With the residents' consent, these volunteers act to ensure that all problems are invenstigated and addressed. Serious complaints of abuse, mistreatment, or neglect are reported immediately to the proper authorities for investigation.

The Ombudsman Program is certified by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs and is under contract with Minutemen Home Care.
