CityTeam International exists to catalyze church-planting movements among the least-reached people of the world by training indigenous leaders to bring the lost to salvation, believers to maturity, new churches into being, and positive change to the community. At least 4 billion souls on this planet are lost. Their lives are racked by poverty and misery. The countries they live in do not welcome the Gospel message or its messengers. The religions they follow hold them in bondage and contaminate the cultures they live in. The tragic reality is that these factors keep the vast majority of these people outside the effective range of most traditional missionaries and their methods. The antidote to these issues is a church that is truly of the people, for the people, and that multiplies through the people. It is the Kingdom of God born and bred from within. The keys to this Kingdom have been given to the indigenous leaders that God has ordained to revolutionize their context, community, and culture. Our job is to find them, equip them, and release them to fulfill their birthright. We are mentors, not implementers; coaches, not bosses; partners, not parents. CityTeam International exists to catalyze that which could not exist without us but which does not depend on us to sustain it.
