notes: The Oregon Partnership for Disaster Resilience (Partnership) is a coalition of public, private, and professional organizations working collectively toward the mission of creating a disaster resilient and sustainable state. The Partnership is recognized by the Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) as a Showcase State for Disaster Resilience. Developed and coordinated by the Community Service Center (CSC) at the University of Oregon the Partnership employs a service learning model to increase community capacity and enhance disaster safety and resilience statewide. Empower communities through increased communication, coordination, and collaboration between diverse partners to: * Build local capacity for risk reduction and recovery; * Prevent injuries and death caused by disaster; * Protect public and private property from disaster impacts; and * Establish a disaster-resilient economy. The Partnership seeks to make disaster resilience a part of every community's routine decision making by coordinating risk reduction and long-term recovery planning activities statewide, resulting in holistic risk reduction efforts that build local capacity among private and public agencies thus making Oregon safer – now and for generations to come.
