Mission: The San Diego Furniture Bank was co-founded by Stacy and
Jennifer Duty. The Duty's have spent the last 5 years organizing
and managing thrift stores from 3,000-15,000 sq. ft. including a
9 month effort in New Orleans after Katrina.

Their previous thrift stores served clothing, food and furniture
to hundreds of families every week in San Diego County.

The Duty's have a great love for people and they desire to continue
their ministry efforts to assist those in need for many years to
come. Everything they do revolves around glorifying God in the name
of His Son Jesus Christ.

The San Diego Furniture Bank is now open to the public. Where
anyone can be a member.

Please visit our member page for more information and an
application. Any individual, family, agency, church, or group
can apply for membership status. The San Diego Furniture Bank
will be opening its doors on December 11 for donations. Please
check back often as we will be posting our inventory on this web
site in the future. We hope to start placing donations with
families affected by the fires once our inventory is in place.

Temporary Warehouse Hours: Wednesday-Friday 12 - 5 PM. Closed

OPERATIONAL PLAN
Under the direction of our Director of Operations, Derek Paulo,
SDFB will sort, stock and warehouse all new and used donated
furniture, appliances and electronics. SDFB will need to pay
for the shipping and handling costs to receive the furniture
from its donor base and therefore in order to cover all of
the expenses incurred to operate the furniture bank the SDFB
will attach a proportional share of the “shipping & handling”
costs to each piece of furniture. Victims of natural disasters
are exempt from these “shipping” costs and will participate in
our grant program. SDFB Members only pay the “shipping &
handling fees” attached to each piece of donated furniture.

FURNISHING HOPE GRANT
Individuals and families who qualify for the "Furnishing HOPE
Grant" (fire victims) will not be charged the “shipping &
handling” fees and will receive free delivery to their new
home.

Individuals not referred to SDFB by a partnering agency and who
do not qualify for the “Furnishing HOPE Grant” will be offered
the opportunity to join SDFB for one year for a suggested
donation of $20. The “Furnishing HOPE Grant Fund” will be
used to reimburse SDFB and its partners for their shipping
& handling fees associated with products that have been
donated to qualifying clients.

SDFB will have a complete web based shopping cart online to
display pictures of our products for agencies and families
wishing to hold specific items prior to entering the SDFB
warehouse.

SDFB Membership
SDFB is open to the public, anyone can be a member. “First
Priority Memberships” are given to those affected by all
natural disasters. Individuals and families in need of low
cost furniture are always welcome. No one is ever turned
away for the lack of finances.

Members are given the privilege of belonging to and supporting
a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting those in need
in their time of need. Members may obtain as many donated items
as needed throughout their membership contract. Members are
encouraged to share in the “shipping & handling” expenses on
a per item basis, thereby ensuring that the SDFB is there when
the community needs it the most.

Donation Requirements
SDFB will not accept drop-off donations of any kind.

SDFB will gratefully accept any and all furniture, appliances
and electronics in excellent condition.

In order to ensure that our clients receive quality furniture
we will send a SDFB volunteer who has been trained to inspect,
select and pick-up “grade A” items only.

SDFB will ask for a suggested donation of $20 to cover gas.
