Desert Lakes Community holds Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser

The Desert Lakes Golf Community Pancake Breakfast to benefit
the Grace Food Pantry of The Living Faith Christian Church
was held on Saturday morning January 26th.

The purpose of the breakfast fundraiser was to replenish the
food pantry not only for the recent flood victims but for
the ongoing service that Grace Food Pantry provides the
citizens of Fernley.

The breakfast was held in the clubhouse at the Golf Club at
Fernley and was an overwhelming success. Over $5,000 was
raised from attendees and their generous donations.

The breakfast was organized by a committee headed by Larry
& Jennifer Ashworth and was made successful through the
help of many friends and neighbors. Some of the generous
donations were made by The Golf Club at Fernley and Thrivent
of the Lutheran Fellowship.

Per Pastor Matt McCreary of Living Faith Church, their distribution
operations (Food-non perishables / Clothing) was moved today to
the Community Ctr. on Main St.

He is grateful to accept the offer of a donated storage container
and is checking with 4 families impacted by the floods in his
congregation today and will get back to me.
