Social Services
Salvation Army social service programs meet the basic needs of daily life for those without the resources to do so themselves. Often, the programs provide food, shelter, clothing, financial assistance to pay utilities, and other necessities based on the need.
Casework and Counseling
Casework and Counseling are components of many Salvation Army programs throughout the United States. Whether it is financial planning and job placement for a young, single mother living in a Salvation Army transitional facility, health care and residential assistance for a family dealing with disease, or counseling and advocacy for a victim of spousal abuse, The Salvation Army is with those it serves every step of the way.
CENTER OF HOPE - Transitional Shelter with a Life Transforming Purpose
The purpose of the Center of Hope Program is to assist people in helping themselves to overcome through Christ the problems that have damaged their lives. The ultimate goal is to integrate the graduate of this Program back into society in about 90 days. Education, life skills, and Christianity are a major part of this approach. The Salvation Army, historically, has been a holistic ministry that helped people physically, challenged people mentally, and transformed people spiritually.
This Program will be offered to persons who are truly sincere in breaking their state of dependency. The Program will accomplish outlined goals in a series of phases and steps. If worked properly, the Center of Hope will result in the Program Participant (client) developing a positive mental attitude about themselves and others. Program Participants, in cooperation with the Program Director and Case Manager will develop goals and objectives that can be measured so that the clients and those helping them, will be able to measure and assist in their Progress.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Center of Hope is a 90 day program that is broken down into 3 Levels on 30 day increments. Level I is called the Beginner Training Program, Phase II is called the Advanced Training Program, and Phase III is called the Leader Training Program.
