Public Assistance In addition to the aid for individuals and households, FEMA has obligated $3.5 million in federal funds to the state of North Dakota for local governments and state agencies. Mission Assignments FEMA and North Dakota Department Emergency Services have coordinated 118 mission assignments to numerous federal and state agencies to protect property and lives statewide. The total cost to date is $33 million. Some of the agencies enlisted in the emergency response include the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Coast Guard Disaster Assistance Response Teams, the American Red Cross, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
