Large animals were taken to the Glen Helen Rodeo grounds and small pets to the Devore Animal Shelter. In spite of air assaults and ground attacks, the fire had an extreme potential to grow. There is no predicted containment. More than 1,000 firefighters have responded to the scene, but high winds are making the air attack tougher.
