ESF is on a reliable listerv hosted by health care professionals of all disciplines providing minute by minute updates on the ongoing changes regarding the epidemic. ESF is partnering with “Project CONCERN“, “World Cares Center“, “MSPP“, “Americares“, and local clinics to obtain and distribute re-hydration salts, nutritional supplements and vitamins, water filtering tablets, and educational material to aid the public at large. We are also collaborating to do the following: ■Preventing mass panic by providing factual, evidence-based information; ■Provide educational town hall meetings at ESF camp, clinic, and orphanage; ■Receive the letter of authorization to work in Haiti under MSPP, which provides ESF access to medicine through PROMESS; Our goals are being accomplished: ■Public health education and distribution of literature provided by World Cares Center; ■Partnering with Project CONCERN and Americares to provide public health advocacy and rehydration salts; and ■Retention of ESF Public Health and Child Safety Advocates in Haiti responsible for program implementation and management of children and public health centers. She is inquiring for another NGO interested in supporting this initiative. She knows that PIH is going into prison in St. Marc but would like to check on prisons elsewhere.
