I would like to clarify the situation about the CTU in Turbe, The CTU has been set up there by Merlin at the beginning of the epidemic in the area. The CTU has a bed capacity of 10 beds and received lots of patients since the beginning of the outbreak. MERLIN provide the following support to the CTU : - Drugs and consumables - Beds, pediluves, buckets etc. - Salaries (all the staff there is paid by Merlin except Dr. Jecrois) - Data collection and analysis - Regular supervision by an expat doctor. When the CTU is out of stock we are immediately inform and provision the Center as soon as we can, the same day if necessary. Also, MERLIN is operating a CTC a few kilometres from Turbe and a ambulance that transfer all the cases with complications to the CTC. The CTU is also supported by Plan Haiti in terms of water provision and sanitation and received already a number of items by other partners such as HRO, IOM etc. So, the situation of the Turbe Health Center is actually very very far from being “terrible”... Until now I received none.When three children share the same bed, the situation is at least terrible. Tomorrow I will post some pics of what the situation is.
