Notes: Since 1970, Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest has provided a broad range of social services that minister to the urgent needs of people in communities throughout the southwest regardless of gender, age, race, religion, nationality or creed.

We promote dignity, independence and quality of life for adults through our Senior Services Division.

We empower individuals, couples, children and families to help themselves through our Community & Family Services Division.

We welcome and help refugees and political asylum seekers establish new lives and achieve self-sufficiency through our Multi-Cultural Services Division.

We teach congregations, groups and community organizations how to prepare for and respond to emergencies through our Disaster Services Division.

LSS-SW provides a dynamic competency-based training program that enables congregations, groups and community organizations to establish effective strategies for preparing and responding to disasters within their communities and in other parts of the nation. Our curriculum integrates written, audio-visual, verbal and kinesthetic communication modalities into three separate training modules. Our skilled field-instructors and special guest presenters tailor training content to address specific disaster scenarios; geographic, language and the unique cultural differences of each community.
