Episcopal Community Services (ECS) has provided essential services to homeless San Franciscans since 1982.

Serving more than 4,500 people last year, ECS, guided by its mission to "help homeless and very low-income people every day and every night obtain the housing, jobs, shelter, and essential services each person needs to prevent and end homelessness," utilizes a holistic approach that addresses the multiple causes leading to homelessness.

ECS Homeless Shelter Programs in San Francisco

Episcopal Community Services operates shelters for homeless adults at two year-round programs, The Sanctuary and Next Door, and the Winter Interfaith Shelter sponsored by the San Francisco Interfaith Council which operates November through March. ECS shelters nearly 500 people each night at the Sanctuary and Next Door who receive hot meals, showers, laundry facilities and clean, warm beds, and access to a myriad of social services and healthcare opportunities.
