Mission: The New Orleans Mission serves the poor, needy and homeless population of New Orleans. The Mission tries to meet both spiritual and physical needs in helping people to be restored to a correct relationship with God and a productive relationship with society. As an arm of the Christian Church, the Mission ministers to the least, the last and the lost.

The men's shelter at 1130 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd is a 30,000-square-foot building that has a capacity for 50 men nightly. The Mission also provides an intense one-year discipleship program for men with substance abuse issues that begins after a 30-day evaluation.

The women's shelter is located within the main office at 1129 Baronne Street. This facility is 4,000 square feet and has capacity for 24 single women. As a transitional living shelter, our staff help the women find full-time employment and affordable housing and teach them basic life skills.

The Family Center located at 1819 Clio Street is a transitional living facility for single women, single men or married couples with up to three children. With occupancy of 34 beds, this 4,400 square foot facility offers a stable, clean environment for families as they work to get back on their feet. Run by Janice Jackson, this shelter aids parents in finding jobs while giving them the tools to find affordable housing. As a transitional facility, parents must work full-time and participate in the daily chores and activities in the home.
