HFTH Neighborhood Stabilization program prevents eviction and foreclosure for 400 working poor families through mortgage, rent and utility assistance, 85% remain housed 90 days after receiving assistance. HFTH certified housing counselors arbitrate between property owners and residents to ensure long-term occupancy. “Celebrating Grandparents” distributes 25,600 meals and basic needs kits each year. “Doctors Who Care” HFTH free quarterly medical clinics provide urgent medical care and referrals for 2,500 people yearly saving the lives of many we find in crisis. HFTH’s temporarily houses mothers and children found living in cars and outside in parks and provides case management that leads to transitional housing with a partner agency. “ Lifestyles in Financial Literacy” classes 112 families receive budgeting and credit counseling , access to checking accounts, understanding of credit and maintain family budgets. Through “Tools For Schools” 4,500 poor and homeless children receive book bags, school supplies and toiletries assisting families with budget needs. Some 88% improve in class receiving the supplies needed to succeed. HFTH Food Bank and Holiday Service Events, among the largest in the nation, provide 48,697 individuals with a variety of specialized services providing a gateway to long term care through our alliances, partnerships and collaborations. HFTH follows the principle that education and self-help must fortify charity work so recipients learn to break the cycle of poverty. HFTH provides intensive Case Management including benefits coordination, temporary housing and employment placement to those who experience barriers to employment due to poor credit or legal issues.
