Mission: Helping Hand FOR Relief And Development is a global humanitarian relief and development organization responding to human sufferings in emergency and disastrous situations anywhere all over the world regardless race, gender, ethnicity, class, location, religion, color, cultural diversity and social background; with special focus in countries where the massive population living below the poverty line like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Kenya, Sudan and many others . We have also partners range from small community support groups to national alliances and international networks seeking education for all, justice and action against poverty, class and gender discrimination and natural calamity. Our work with the co-partners underlines the issues that emerge after any natural upheaval or affect poor and voiceless people.
In addition to our emergency relief efforts under natural or man made disasters areas, we also work on long term relief and development program like Livelihood, Economic Empowerment, Orphan and Widows Support Program and Skill Development Program etc.
We have a unique vision and direction. We don't impose solutions, but work with communities over many years to strengthen their own efforts to throw off poverty. FROM THE SITE:
HHRD’s Floods Emergency Response:
Currently HHRD is actively providing emergency relief across the country.
This includes District Swat, Buner, Dir, Char Sadha and Mianwali.
- Food Distributions: $25 food package will feed a family of 6 for 1 week.
Food Package includes: Flour, Sugar, Cooking Oil, Rice, Lentils, Biscuits and other basics.
Food package distributions have been made to over 8000 individuals.
- Medical Assistance: $500 provides for 1 week’s supply of medicines.
Every day more than 500 patients are receiving treatment and medicines at HHRD’s medical camps.
- Shelter: $100 is the cost of one tent.
Tent distribution is being made to help those whose houses have been washed away by the floods.
Comprehensive Primary Health Care Services are being provided in collaboration with World Health Organization (WHO), and HHRD is running a Mother Child Health Center as well. Ambulance services are also being provided.
Pakistan Floods 2010:
The death toll has passed 1500 and the floods have affected over 3.5 million people across Pakistan. This year’s monsoon season caused the worst floods in the history of Pakistan. Flood waters devastated and washed away hundreds of villages and the livelihood of many, in its course.
According to HHRD’s Emergency Response Team, thousands are stuck on rooftops, have limited access to survival. Lack of drinking water is a constant threat to health of millions and they are facing water borne diseases.
People from remote areas are walking 8 to 10 hours to reach a place where food could be available. Some displaced people are staying with relatives but many are sleeping out in the open. They have lost their houses, shops, and livestock. They cannot reach for help due to damage to paved roads and bridges. Tents are needed.
Please help in any capacity; there are a lot of people suffering and need our assistance.

- From7-9 August, HHRD distributed food packages among 800 families in Nowshahra, Charsada, Swat and Dir (Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa).
- From 4 - 9 August, through medical camps, HHRD treated 4000 patients in Charsada and Dir
- Health activities begin in district Dera Gazi khan and District Muzafar Garh. As, today, HHRD medical camp team has approached.
- By tomorrow, HHRD team will begin to provide health assistance in district Nawab shah
- One of HHRD aid worker loses life during relief activities
