IDS is a charitable trust which was founded in 2005. Our goal is to enable and empower the people living in the rural areas of Pakistan to realise their potential for achieving sustainable development and prosperity. By empowering them with a solid education, better health care & improved infrastructure, we hope to make them more productive members of society. With your help and support in our good cause we believe we can achieve this goal.

MISSION

IDS mission is to build successful economic, social and human resource development models for District Sheikhupura & eventually replicate them in other districts of Pakistan for poverty alleviation, social progress and provision of better standards of living.

FROM THE SITE:

Torrential rainfalls have caused the worst floods in the history of Pakistan, in what is being termed as the “Floods of the Century”.

The extent of this disaster can be gauged from the numbers affected by these floods: 1 in every 10 Pakistanis has been directly affected. There has been widespread devastation of roads, bridges, homes, crops, livestock, and displacement of millions of people including women and children. It is a massive task to provide immediate relief and to help communities rebuild their lives.

IDS is committed to alleviating the suffering of the flood affected people. In response to this widespread devastation IDS has decided to lead the emergency flood relief efforts.

As a first step, IDS has set up Donation Collection Centers in District Sheikhupura and has already dispatched Relief teams for immediate provision of vital supplies including food, water, medicine, cooking utensils, and other necessary provisions.

IDS has also partnered with Glamourati & Gold Agency to raise funds for the flood victims by organizing events of international celebrities in Pakistan. IDS has already engaged EDWARD MAYA http://www.edwardmaya.com/tour-a-events, a famous Singer/DJ who is the No 1 top selling artist of 2010 with 55.6 million fans worldwide to perform at the Lahore Expo Centre on the 18th of September 2010. Funds raised by these events will be utilized for the affected flood victims.
