notes: Services: Bible Clubs/Sunday School Development Department with Staff Volunteer Coordinator Prepared Meals Served Recycling Program Residential Program for Parolees Regular Jail Bible Studies - Worship Hot Meals for the Homebound: Since 1984, the Christian Mission Center has been involved with preparing and delivering nutritious, home cooked meals twice a week to those who are homebound. On-Site Meals: Our cooks also prepare three meals a day, seven days a week for walk-ins and our shelter residents (See website for schedule). Emergency Assistance Programs: -FOOD for anyone in need. -Assistance with UTILITY BILLS that involve a disconnect notice. -RENT or MORTGAGE assistance when individuals are facing eviction. -SHELTER for individuals or families who are homeless. -MEDICATION for life threatening medical conditions for those unable to pay. -TRANSPORTATION such as bus tickets or gasoline vouchers for individuals and families who need assistance traveling out of town to hospitals, funerals, and other emergencies. -CLOTHING vouchers for individuals and families to be used for shopping at the Christian Mission Bargain Center. -HOUSEHOLD ITEMS such as dishes, linens, furniture, appliances, etc. -CANES, WALKERS, and MEDICAL BEDS for anyone in need. VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME: The opportunities are numerous and the work is very rewarding. Each volunteer gets a complete tour of the behind the scenes operations and goes through a formal training period. DONATIONS: Donations of Items to include clothing, furniture, appliances, household items, automobiles, land or other property, and miscellaneous items. Donated clothing and other goods are also tax deductible and a receipt should be requested at the time and location where goods are donated. Donations of clothing and other goods may be delivered directly to the rear of the Store in Enterprise where they can be processed, or to the Store Manager at any of the other locations. Pick ups for large items of large donations may be arranged by calling our in advance our main office. There are also white wooden drop boxes bearing the mission name located in convenient locations throughout the community where smaller items may be placed at any time. Bagged Groceries: Clients who qualify are given a generous supply of food from our large pantry. Individual needs are taken into consideration and when necessary, some training is provided on how to put the items together for a nutritious meal. Pantry foods are provided through the donations of individuals, corporations, and local organizations; an annual food drive by the Boy Scouts, food drive collections by the Post Office, and canned or boxed foods purchased in bulk from the USDA Food Bank.
